I'm Sean Bell, a photographer based in Edinburgh in Central Scotland.

I have been a full time professional photographer for 10 years, shooting creative, award winning images for editorial, commercial and private clients and I still feel lucky to be doing this as my job.

I have covered everything from Royal visits, major sporting events to celebrity portraits and live news for some of the countries top national newspapers and magazines, including The Scotsman, The Herald, The Times, The Daily Mail, The Guardian and The Independant.My private client list includes the BBC, National Museums of Scotland, , Glenmorangie, Moet-Hennessay, McDonalds, Somerfield, Heineken, Scottish Rugby Union, National Library of Scotland.

Wedding Photography

My wedding photography reflects my skill as a photojournalist. I love capturing every breath of the big day, the mix of emotions, the joy, the nerves, the fun, the ‘moments’.

Im a people person and out of all the technical expertise I have as a photographer I would say this skill is the most important. I work in an unobtrusive manner, but always have an eye on what I need to create a full story of the wedding day.
Im passionate about photography, Im inspired by the classic and the modern, from the street photographers and photojournalists of the mid 20th century with their knack for ‘the decisive moment’ to the modern fashion snapper and their classy lighting set ups.

I feel privileged to be part of every wedding I cover, even if my part is just to meld into the background and to grab lots of lovely candid images of people having fun. To think that the pictures I take will be kept in the family for years to come, hung on walls and printed in family albums, it hits home how important my job is.

Iam a qualified Licenciate memeber of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP)

Iam also fully insured, holding both public liability and professional indemnity cover.

Commercial and Editorial

From local PR companies looking for a striking press image to multi-national brands looking for marketing imagery, I have worked closely with picture editors, marketing departments and art directors for many years and have a good working knowledge of the industry and image requirements.

Since 2006 I have been the official contracted photographer for The National Museums Scotland, shooting creative marketing, lifestyle photography for use on web, posters and billboards. I love my work here, its always a great challenge and the range of subjects I get to shoot keeps it very interesting, varied and sometimes just lots of fun.

In 2009 I won the CIB awards photographer of the year award for my museums portfolio.

When Im not working I can usually be found in the mountains of Scotland, walking, climbing or biking, I always have the camera with me though, we seem to be joined at the hip....
